CritiQ [kri-tik]
CritiQ is known for his detail and precision when using a graphite pencil. Self taught, he utilizes the line and chiaroscuro techniques he picked up from his uncle to seamlessly blend realism with the surreal. This results in art reminiscent to the work of his two greatest inspirations: Ozabu and Craola.
The wide range of emotions expressed in his work originates from a childhood full of Cartoons, Japanese Anime, Movies, and Video Games. That combined with having an eclectic and colorful Dominican family, CritiQ grew up with a deep appreciation for the arts and its many forms of expression.
Informed by his background in music, photography, and graphic design, he identifies drawing to another sphere of his practice. Through drawing, he hopes to push the boundaries of an artist’s ability to display the universe’s infinite possibilities and powerful emotion.
